Tyler Maguire & Kyle Marshall returning – to the Alexandra Park stables tonight (Friday June 1, 2012).

The father/son harness racing combination of David and Kyle Marshallhas emerged out of the fog in recent weeks, to produce four winners in less than a month.

The run of hot form from started on January 13 when Tyler Maguire was successful in the Thames & Whitianga Pawarai Cup, and hasn’t stopped since with Tyler Maguire going down narrowly in behind the smart Let’s Elope in her next appearance before effortlessly taking out today’s (Sunday February 3) Stratford Cup.

In between times previously poor performer Covert Action found form for the Marshall’s after 13 previous unplaced starts for Robert Mitchell when winning first up for them at Auckland on the 25th of January, before the Grinfromeartoearfull brother to Pure Power doubled up for the Marshall‘s at today’s Stratford meeting a couple of races prior to their Stratford Cup success.

Both horses were driven very positively by the rapidly improving junior driver Kyle Marshall.

It is definitely the first double for Cambridge trainer David Marshall, and it is possibly his son’s first double as well.

Tyler Maguire’s effortless end-to-end Stratford Cup win also topped off a great day for her sire Elsu who sired four winners in New Zealand today-Two at Stratford and two at Wyndham.
