posted in: Drives, News

Driver Kyle Marshall timed his final run to perfection to get Presidential Jewel home in the opening event at Cambridge Raceway’s September 9 meeting.

Away from the standing start in fourth place, Marshall steadily gained on pacemaker High in the Sky and with a round to go, took Presidential Jewel one off the rail.

Marshall made his bid for the lead as the field turned into the final straight and Presidential Jewel held on to beat the fast-finishing Call Me Trouble by a neck.

Marshall was driving the trotter for Morrinsville trainer Roger Villiger in the Clubhouse Happy Hour Tuesday & Wednesday 4-6pm Handicap Trot.

The win provided connections with a $9,750 winning stake, taking lifetime earnings to more than $70,000.

At the tote, he paid $7.20 for the win and $2.30 for the place.
